# Store and Switch Multiple eSIM Profiles on One Device

> Manage several eSIM profiles on your phone — keep your home number plus multiple travel eSIMs for different trips or destinations.

One of the best things about eSIM technology is that your phone can hold several eSIM profiles at once — think of them like a little digital collection of SIM cards, all living neatly inside your phone. You can store plans for different countries, keep your home eSIM, and add a new eBanano plan whenever a trip is on the horizon. Only one or two can be active at a time, but switching between them takes just a few seconds.

## How Many eSIMs Can My Phone Store?

The number of eSIM profiles your phone can hold depends on the make and model. Here's a quick overview:

## Switch Between Stored eSIMs

Ready to activate a stored eSIM for your next trip — or switch back to a previous one? Here's how:

    2. Scroll down to find the eSIM you want to activate — they'll be listed by their label or phone number.
    3. Tap the eSIM you want.
    4. Toggle **Turn On This Line** to the **on** position.

    Your phone will activate that eSIM within a few seconds. To use it for data, also set it as your default data line under **Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data**.

    1. Open **Settings** and tap **Connections** (Samsung) or **Network & Internet** (Pixel and most others).
    2. Tap **SIM Manager** (Samsung) or **SIMs** (Pixel).
    3. Find the eSIM you want to activate and tap it.
    4. Toggle it **on**, or tap **Activate** if prompted.

    Once active, you can set it as your preferred data SIM from the same menu.

  Storing an eSIM on your phone doesn't start your data plan or count against your plan's validity. Your plan only becomes active — and your data usage begins — when you turn that eSIM line on and start using data. So feel free to install your eBanano eSIM before you travel without worrying about burning through your plan early.

## Staying Organised Across Trips

A format like **"🇯🇵 Japan – March 2025"** or **"🇮🇹 Italy – Summer"** makes it easy to spot the right plan at a glance, especially when you're juggling multiple trips. On iPhone, you can rename an eSIM under **Settings → Cellular → \[tap the eSIM] → \[tap the name at the top]**.

## Common Questions About Multiple eSIMs

  Most phones support two active SIM lines at once — so yes, you *can* have two eBanano eSIMs active at the same time if you're travelling across regions or need plans for two different countries on the same trip.

  Keep in mind that only one SIM can be your active **data** SIM at a time. You'd need to manually switch the data SIM when crossing between coverage areas. <Accordion title="Will my old eSIM still work when I travel to the same country again?">
  It depends on whether your previous plan is still within its **validity period**. eBanano plans have an expiry date — once that date passes, the plan can no longer be used, even if there's data remaining.

  If your old plan has expired, you'll need to purchase a new plan for that destination. The old eSIM profile may still be stored on your phone, but it won't have any active data. You can delete it to keep things tidy, or leave it and add a new plan when you're ready to travel again.

  Tidying up your eSIM list is easy — just make sure you actually want to remove it, as deleted eSIMs **cannot be restored**.

  **iPhone:**

  1. Go to **Settings → Cellular**.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Scroll down and tap **Delete eSIM**.
  4. Confirm when prompted.

  **Android (Samsung):**

  1. Go to **Settings → Connections → SIM Manager**.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Tap **Delete** or **Remove eSIM** and confirm.

  **Android (Pixel):**

  1. Go to **Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs**.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Tap **Delete** and confirm.

  Once deleted, you'll need to purchase and reinstall a new eSIM if you want to use that plan again.
