# No Data Connection on Your eBanano eSIM? Fix It Now

> Troubleshoot a missing or slow data connection on your eBanano eSIM. Check roaming settings, APN configuration, and network selection.

Your eSIM is installed, the line looks active — but the internet just isn't cooperating. Sound familiar? Don't worry, this is one of the most common things travelers run into, and it's almost always fixable in under five minutes. Work through the steps below from top to bottom and you'll be streaming, navigating, and sharing travel photos before you know it.

  Toggling Airplane Mode on and off is the single most effective first fix for connection issues — it forces your phone to re-register on the network. Try it before anything else and you might not even need the rest of this guide!

## Step-by-Step Fix Guide

  <Step title="Set eBanano as your mobile data source">
    Your phone may be defaulting to your home SIM for data. Go to **Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data** and look for an option like "Cellular Data" or "Default Data Line." Select your **eBanano** line. On Android, this is often under **Settings → Connections → SIM Card Manager → Mobile Data**.

  <Step title="Enable Data Roaming on the eSIM line">
    eBanano routes your data through local partner networks, which your phone classifies as roaming — even when it's your primary connection abroad. Go to **Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → eBanano line** and switch **Data Roaming** on. Without this, no data will flow.

  <Step title="Switch to automatic network selection">
    A manually selected network might be unavailable or incompatible with your eBanano plan. Go to **Settings → Cellular → Network Selection** (iPhone) or **Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators** (Android) and choose **Automatic**. Your phone will then find the best available partner network.

    Open your phone's Control Centre or Quick Settings panel, tap **Airplane Mode** to turn it on, wait about 10 seconds, then tap it again to turn it off. This forces your phone to drop and re-establish its network connection from scratch — surprisingly effective!

    A full restart clears temporary glitches that a simple network toggle can't reach. Hold the power button, shut your phone down completely, wait 15 seconds, and power it back on.

    Some eBanano plans need a manual APN entry to route data correctly. Check your eBanano confirmation email for APN details. If no APN is mentioned, your plan likely configures itself automatically and you can skip this step. See the APN section below for setup instructions.

## APN Settings

  APN stands for Access Point Name — think of it as the "address" your phone uses to connect to mobile data. Most eBanano plans set this up automatically when you install the eSIM profile, so you'll never need to touch it. However, a small number of plans require you to enter the APN manually. Check your eBanano confirmation email: if there's an APN section, you'll need to follow the steps below. If there's no mention of an APN, you're all set.

  1. Open **Settings** and tap **Cellular** (or **Mobile Data**).
  2. Tap your **eBanano** line, then tap **Cellular Data Network**.
  3. Under the **Cellular Data** section, find the **APN** field.
  4. Enter the APN value from your eBanano confirmation email exactly as shown.
  5. Leave the Username and Password fields blank unless your email specifies otherwise.
  6. Press the **Back** button — the setting saves automatically.
  7. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off to apply the change.

  <Note>On newer iPhones, this menu may be greyed out or hidden depending on your carrier settings. If you can't access it, contact eBanano support for a configuration profile.</Note>

  Steps vary slightly by manufacturer, but the general path is:

  1. Go to **Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks** (or **Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network**, depending on your device).
  2. Tap **Access Point Names**.
  3. Tap the **+** or **Add** button to create a new APN.
  4. Enter the APN name (e.g. "eBanano") and the APN value from your confirmation email.
  5. Leave other fields at their defaults unless specified in your email.
  6. Tap the menu (three dots) and select **Save**.
  7. Select the new APN from the list to activate it.
  8. Restart your phone to apply the change.
