Only one or two can be active at a time, but switching between them takes just a few seconds.

Switch Between Stored eSIMs

Ready to activate a stored eSIM for your next trip — or switch back to a previous one? Here’s how:
  1. Open Settings and tap Cellular.
  2. Scroll down to find the eSIM you want to activate — they’ll be listed by their label or phone number.
  3. Tap the eSIM you want.
  4. Toggle Turn On This Line to the on position.
Your phone will activate that eSIM within a few seconds. To use it for data, also set it as your default data line under Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data.
Storing an eSIM on your phone doesn’t start your data plan or count against your plan’s validity. Your plan only becomes active — and your data usage begins — when you turn that eSIM line on and start using data. So feel free to install your eBanano eSIM before you travel without worrying about burning through your plan early.

Staying Organised Across Trips

Give each eSIM a clear label so you can find the right one in a hurry. A format like ”🇯🇵 Japan – March 2025” or ”🇮🇹 Italy – Summer” makes it easy to spot the right plan at a glance, especially when you’re juggling multiple trips. On iPhone, you can rename an eSIM under Settings → Cellular → [tap the eSIM] → [tap the name at the top].

Common Questions About Multiple eSIMs

Most phones support two active SIM lines at once — so yes, you can have two eBanano eSIMs active at the same time if you’re travelling across regions or need plans for two different countries on the same trip.Keep in mind that only one SIM can be your active data SIM at a time. You’d need to manually switch the data SIM when crossing between coverage areas. For most travellers, a single regional or multi-country plan is the simpler option — check out our destination plans to see what’s available for your route.
It depends on whether your previous plan is still within its validity period. eBanano plans have an expiry date — once that date passes, the plan can no longer be used, even if there’s data remaining.If your old plan has expired, you’ll need to purchase a new plan for that destination. The old eSIM profile may still be stored on your phone, but it won’t have any active data. You can delete it to keep things tidy, or leave it and add a new plan when you’re ready to travel again.
Tidying up your eSIM list is easy — just make sure you actually want to remove it, as deleted eSIMs cannot be restored.iPhone:
  1. Go to Settings → Cellular.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete eSIM.
  4. Confirm when prompted.
Android (Samsung):
  1. Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Tap Delete or Remove eSIM and confirm.
Android (Pixel):
  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs.
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove.
  3. Tap Delete and confirm.
Once deleted, you’ll need to purchase and reinstall a new eSIM if you want to use that plan again.
