1. Check the countries

For a trip to one country, look at plans that cover that country. If you’re visiting several countries, check the full country list for each regional or multi-country plan. A plan named “Europe” doesn’t necessarily cover every country in Europe.

2. Check when validity starts

The plan’s validity may begin:
  • when the eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network;
  • when the eSIM is installed;
  • immediately after purchase.
Don’t assume you can install every eSIM well before your trip. The correct time depends on the plan.

3. Choose a data allowance

“Unlimited” doesn’t always mean unlimited data at full speed. Read the conditions of the specific offer before paying.
Maps, messages, and quick searches generally use less data. Video calls, streaming, large uploads, and hotspot use can consume much more.Your needs depend on how you use your phone, so no weekly GB estimate fits everyone.

4. Can I top up later?

Only some eSIMs support top-up. If yours does, you can buy another package for the same eSIM when the option is available. There’s no automatic renewal. If top-up isn’t supported, you’ll need to choose another package instead. Don’t plan your trip around an add-on that isn’t offered for your eSIM.
