Before buying, verify the exact device you will use:
  1. it can add eSIM profiles;
  2. it is not locked to a single carrier.
Capabilities can vary between regional versions of the same phone model, so checking the device itself is more reliable than relying only on a model list.

Can the phone add an eSIM?

Open Settings → Cellular or Mobile Data.If you see Add eSIM, the phone can add eSIM profiles.
Menu names vary by manufacturer and OS version. If you cannot find an eSIM option, check the exact model and sales region with the device manufacturer.

Is the phone carrier-locked?

A phone can support eSIM but still reject SIMs from other carriers.
Open Settings → General → About and find Carrier Lock.If it says No SIM restrictions, the phone is not carrier-locked.
